There is one person who is always put- ting everything together in the right perspective. Untiring effort, determi- nation and enthusiasm are words that describe this person. She is the kind of individual who takes an active interest in her students in and out of the class- room. Not only does she teach โ€œle lan- gue de francaiseโ€ she is the varsity cheerleadersโ€™ sponsor. In the class- room her knowledge of France and the French language is expansive. She is very famous for her โ€œpetite examens.โ€ Students must always be prepared to do their best when they are in her class because she will not accept anything less. It takes a special kind of person to rise above the puzzle world, sorting and piecing everything together to work effectively, and she is this per- son. It is with great pleasure that the 1978 Memoir is dedicated to Made- moiselle Joy Lynn Tynes. I 16 1 The Allied Health Careers Club is an inspiring organ- ization which encourages youth to achieve careers in their fields of interest in paramedics. The AHCC pro- vides a setting in which its members can meet together to share their interests. Their activities included help- ing patients, a field trip to a Medical College, and attending a statewide convention. As the AHCC advi- sors, Mrs. Faye Cole and Mrs. Flo LeRoy, assisted in preparing the members for their future careers. 1. As a project, the AHCC took blood pressures during lunch. The majorettes and flag twirlers traveled to camp for a week last summer to improve their twirling talents. From then until November, practices were held twice a week with the band performing at every game, rain or shine. A variety of shows were performed, but the unique religious show was never performed without a standing ova- tion from the crowds. Near the end of the season the band attended a marching exhibition at Habersham Central, and closed the marching season by performing in the festival at Columbus, Georgia. 1. Pick up those knees! 2. Parents watch the results of a week at camp. 3. Flagtwirlers perform to the Halleluiah Chorus.' 4. We want a touchdown! 27 Work and practice doesnโ€™t end with the marching sea- son in this band. Headlining this year's activities for the Interact Club included collecting money for the Hart Fund and getting a Christmas tree big enough for eleven hundred students and small enough to fit through the gym doors. To raise funds for their trip to convention, members raffled a gun at the first home game. Now as they look back, members can truly say they were caught in the act of interacting. GQiaeCC? OCa rae aee v j eacwwoeoD uiuย oe aa? s._______________ The Key Club sponsored many projects that were beneficial to area citizens this school term. Aiding the Kiwanis Club in bell- ringing for the Salvation Army, painting the Hart-Franklin Training Center, and collecting money for the Heart Fund were among these tasks. Members sold community birthday calendars to finance their various community projects. They were also active in the school Christmas program by sponsoring the collection of Christmas Food Baskets. Only after many years of involvement, leadership and responsibil- ity, as well as pressures, have these people made their dreams become reality. One of the main reasons why these Seniors have achieved their goals is because they under- stand the meaning of leadership. Leadership is not a gift that comes with an office or job, instead, itโ€™s a quality which must be learned and shared. When this quality is shared with others, the outgrowth of leadership becomes more leadership. 1. Anna Ridgway โ€” North District President of the 4 H Club. In this yearโ€™s game, how- ever, there were many first game mis takes by the Dogs both on offense and defense. Cresent 16 โ€” Hart 8. HART vs. RABUN โ€” This was the first win of the season for the Bulldogs and both the offense and defense was out- standing in the game against the Wild- cats. At one point in the game, the Hart County defensive team held Rabun on our own four yard line for four downs. Hart 7 โ€” Rabun 0. HART vs. WINDER โ€” The Dogs trav- eled to Winder, Ga. to challenge the Winder-Barrow Bulldogs. Although the Hart County Dogs played well the entire game they failed to score. Mis- takes and penalties cost us the ball game. Winder-Barrow 7 โ€” Hart 0. HART vs. FRANKLIN โ€” The first sub- region game for Hart County was played in Carnesville against the Lions. The players were up for the game and eager to play and per- formed extremely well in the first half. but the dogs came back from the locker room and had a disappointing second half. Franklin 27 โ€” Hart 8. HART vs. MADISON โ€” Penalties, penalties, penalties, penalties. This was our downfall in this game with Madison County. After having some internal problems, the Bulldogs came back and played a great offensive and defensive game. In the last seven or eight minutes of the game. Hart had a chance to win but just couldn't advance enough to cross the goal line. Madison 21 โ€” Hart 7. HART vs. OGLETHORPE โ€” After a heart breaking loss to Madison County, the Bulldogs jumped right back to have their second victory of the season. Both the offe nsive and defensive performancewas outstand- ing in this game. In the second quar- ter, the Patriots managed to get to Bulldog four, and four plays later the Mighty Bulldogs thrust them back to the twenty-five. Hart 12 โ€” Oglethorpe TOP- HART vs. RIVERSIDE โ€” With Home coming festivities in the air, the dogs added a fine football victory to the excitement, defeating the Cadets from Riverside Military. Everyone on the Varsity squad played in this contest. Hart 27 โ€” Riverside 6. HART vs. STEPHENS โ€” Although the Bulldog performance was not the best in this game. Hart was completely overpowered and outclassed by the enormous Stephens County team. The two teams were evenly matched by no means and Stephens delighted in run- ning up the score. The final score was an embarrasing 54 to 0. HART vs. ELBERT โ€” Hart County performed well in this game even though it was not indicated by the final score. Elbert scored mainly on 3 long runs. The Bulldog offense suf- fered from lack of consistency. Elbert 25 โ€” HartO. HART vs. FRANKLIN โ€” This game against the Lions did not count as a sub region game and many players were ready to bring this disappointing season to an end. Driver's Education is also taught. Students learn how to operate and drive a car correctly. The P.E. Department really puts all three together by teaching students to be healthier, more fit, and more cautious. r 1. So many I times the secretaries at Hart County High are taken for granted but without their constant help our puzzle [ would be in a state of confusion. 131 FOOD. Food is a puzzle within itself. If we consider each letter separately we find the word food can mean Focus on Our Diet which is exactly what the lunchroom workers are doing. Hart County High has a group of people who are known as โ€œJanitors on the Move.โ€ These janitors are always on the move to clean up our school and campus. Their efforts can always be seen and are always appreciated. 132 -------------------------------------------------------- The final year of High School proved to be a very successful and meaningful one. We were referred to as the backbone of the school and therefore, very important to its existence โ€” A feeling of warm friendship was with us as we were looked upon for answers concern ing Homecoming, Class rings and ideas for the prom. As Seniors, we were rewarded with the memories of the past, the excitement of graduation, and the wonder of years to come. We began our lives this year as the HCHS puzzle completed and realized that after grad uation we would become new pieces in still another puzzle. v_______________________________________________________ y SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS โ€” 1. Talk to Your Navy Recruite Gary Adam? Hartwell Recrufter As the pieces come closer together for the finish, we find our Senior Seekers in a question These Senior Seekers who leave our puzzle will go their own way; still seeking that questionable puzzle which lies ahead of them. Sadness occurs for these Seniors who leave but the memories they have had in our puzzle will always remain with them. Although these Senior Seekers will leave there will be no missing pieces, because other Seekers will rise a grade to take their place. This continuous rising of grades will permit the chance for new Seekers to venture in and old Seekers to leave, producing a circular, non stopping puzzle So we leave our puzzle saying a goodbye to those leaving Seekers and wishing them the best of luck for when they ven ture into the unknown puzzle. 2 Senior Directory EDWARD STUART ABDALLAH โ€” Hi Y.
