Hart County High School 1971 Memoir Karol Kotal, Editor Many people contribule to the future of students but you have created a future for many of us. Your sound phi- losophy regarding occupa- tional education, as well as your infinite patience, has encouraged many students to succeed in life against for- midable odds. Through your We Dedicate The 1971 Memoir effort with VOT, DCT, FBLA, and VICA, we have grown to admire and respect you. We appreciate the inter- est you have taken in each one of us. Because you are what you arc , we dedicate the 1971 Memoir to you, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cobh. To Mr. And Mrs. J. B. Cobb 4 5 Activities 141 Advertisem HCHS 1970-71 slvle has meant much more than its sum total of classrooms, books, final exams, termpapers, and teachers. It has been a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds, of moods and emotions, of dreams, ideas and happenings all as varied as life itself. As we have been Ringing In A Changing Era.' we have found there is a place for everyone here: alone or with others, happy or sad. There is a place for the individual, the conformist, the intellectual, and the frustrated. There are moments when we have been all of them at the same time. HCHS has been a place . . . where we have known the frustrations involved in the act of learning, the courageous spirit prevalent in a student body even when the game was lost, the crushing reality of a broken love affair, the warm glow of pride at a favorite teacher’s compliment, the strength that comes with the gaining of new hopes and as- pirations for the future. We have had different ideas, different dreams, and dif- ferent interests. We, in the process of 'Ringing In A Changing Era. have somehow inexplicably interwoven our frustrations and doubts into enduring satisfactions and ac- complishments. This has been HCHS 1970-71: where past has met fu- ture, where some dreams have ended, and where new ones have begun, all in the never ending process of learning. We now proudK unveil to you some of these nostalgic mo- ments in the 1971 MEMOIR. ents........177 12 13 l ’H SI sl'1,1, 15 In Memory Of 16 Mr. Leonard Rodgers Administrative Assistant 19 Language Department Mrs. Harriette Brinson Mrs. Helen Dowis Mrs. Melba Windham Coach Gordon Baile Mrs. Ernelle Hughes Miss Connie Howell Mrs. Rebecca Mewborn Science Department Mrs. Flo LeRoy Mr. William Baker Mr. Anthony Presley Social Studies Department Mrs. Marjorie Swilling Coach Robert Oliver Mrs. Ardessa Rodgers Mr. Bobby Brown Mrs. Sara Chafin ■H Mr. Joel Thornton Mrs. Blanche Bowers Mr. J.
