Every five years each high school in the state of Georgia is visited by an Evaluation Committee for the Southern Associa- tion of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Below ore excerpts from the report that this committee submitted to Mr. Martin: COMMENDATIONS: The Committee was very much impressed by the high morale of students, teachers and lay people and the mutual respect shown between these groups. When a group of selected students were asked to state what they believed to be the outstanding feature of the school, they immediately replied, 'The interest the principal and teachers have in us as students.' This speaks well for the entire staff. The principal, and the principals of the elementary schools within the county, are to be recommended for their guidance of eighth grade students prior to entrance m high school. The pre- registration of eighth grade students in their respective schools appears to be an effective step in the overall guidance of stu- dents os well os making for efficiency in organization of the high school. Housekeeping was excellent. This indicates a high degree of cooperation between custodians, staff, and students as well as pride in a beautiful building. RECOMMENDATIONS: A combination gymnasium-auditorium is essential to the type program that the boys and girls of Hart County deserve. Also the progrom is curtailed to a certain extent by limited facili- ties; for example, in physical education and in homemaking education. Although excellent facilities are provided in home- making education, these facilities would have to be doubled to provide for student needs in this phase of the educational pro- gram. Enrichment of the school program means the employment of additional staff members. This, in turn, means that if the school is to remain on the accredited list of the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the local administration must try to provide teachers beyond the state allotment. The Committee strongly recommends that a full-time secretary be employed for the school. EVALUATION DAY LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. J. M. Jarrard, Area Representative, State Dept, of Education; Mr. W.
