Helping at Caracas Social Center Coffee break CIVIC ACTICN The Civic Action program was our way of lending a hand to our South American neigh- bors. When hospitals, orphanages, or schools needed carpentry, plumbing, or repair work, volunteers for Civic Action projects were always there using Navy ingenuity to get the job done. Ships have technical problems, too, and the various navies passed around their knowledge and resources. YARNELL crewmembers donated nearly 700 man hours to Civic Action projects during UNITAS XI.
