Leaving behind family and friends, everything seems new. Everyone working together, teamwork is the name of the game. Messcooks feeding the hungry, BT's keep feeding the flame. BM 's steer a safe course at night while others are sleeping. OS's over their consoles are aware of the contacts their keeping. Helos hover above the fantail like bees surrounding their hive. The Postal Clerk waits patiently for the mail from home to arrive. Over four hundred men working daily, doing what they can do best. A scented letter sealed with lipstick puts a young mans mind to rest. Radiomen receive the message first, we're sailing to the Eastern Med. Arriving on the scene, E W's take pictures of foreign aircraft overhead. Days can sometimes seem endless, watching the same movie over again A sailor is awake in the rack sending love by the touch of his pen. Twenty-two hundred, the Chaplain comes over the 1MC on the air. Men listen in silence for the message of safe passage in his prayer. The day has finally arrived, YARNELL's been officially relieved. A man receives the news of his newborn infant at home conceived. Six months have past us by as the pier slowly comes into view. Everyone is anxiously manning the rails, save for just a few. A kiss is blown in the wind daddy has finally come back.
