Lacking experience and hav- ing only one refurning leflerman, 'l'he Eagles were under a handicap from +he sl'arl'. Ells lhis year, as every year, had a very rough schedule, bofh in praclice and in league. -To em- phasize lhe roughness of l'he schedule, McCly- monds, S+. lgnafius, Richmond and Claylon Valley placed one, l'wo, fhree, four al' +he Tournamenl' of Champions al' Berlceley. The Eagles beal' 'lhe Wildcals of S. l. in fhe early season, 35-32, and barely los+ fo Richmond and Clayfon Valley by idenlical scores of 53-5I. Tom Cousey was again a unanimous choice for All-ACAL and All-Cify. He placed on fhe All- Norfhern California, All-Mefropolifan, and All- Bay Area feams. Tom led fhe league in scoring wifh an l8.9 average and 226 poin'l's in I2 league fills. He broke fhe school scoring record fhis year wilh 29 poinfs againsf De Anza. The previous rec- ord was 28 sei' by Bob Gaillard who is now play- ing on lhe Universily of San Francisco varsify as a sophomore. Cousey was nominafed mos'l' valu- able player.
