PICNIC ...that rousing softball game that had just started when a cluudburst sus- pended it? ...girls who rented a pontoon and pro- ceeded to go around in circles in the middle of the lake? ...coming back on the bus, throwing food around? ...trying to eat an olive without someone taking it away from you? ...singing until we were hoarse and the bus driver a bit buggy? ...the sun that came out in full force as we unloaded? ...the dirty, tired, dried out, wind- blown but happy seniors bringing even dirtier clothes home for their mothers to try to get all the sand out? ...faces covered with calamine lotion the next day, but everyone's agreeing it was worth it?
