An early defeat in the Recreation Bowl against Class AA power Scott County was a big disappointment to Pioneer fans as well as the team, but the Mighty Hogs came back to win the Class A, Region 2, District 1, and CKC titles. The Pioneers advanced to the State Class A Semi-finals but lost a heart-breaker to Heath 15-14. The Hogs were not only winners recordwise, but were winners in other respects. They worked together as a team and exhibited a special closeness to members of the coaching staff and to each other. They were a proud and spirited squad and remained so even when things were looking down for them. This in itself is a great achievement and a rare quality. The Pioneers showed a certain speediness all season and were called by many one of the fastest teams in the state . This quickness kc;v cores of fans on their feet and stunned opponents. (Namely Richmond Madison, Mercer County, and Frankfort). The Pioneers gained a total of 4,201 yards for the season averaging 323.2 yards per game, and racked up a total of 395 point, averaging 30.4 points a game. Junior Henry Parks won the Central Kentucky C inference scoring race with 126 points followed by Senior George Yea with 1 i points. Parks and Yeast along with Gary Johnson, Venus Meaux, and Randall Partleson were named to All-CKC teams. All-State honors went to Park , Yeast, and Meaux, who were named to first reams, ana Cary Johnson, who received an honorable mention. ; B The 1975 Harrodsburg Pioneers have given the student body, fans, and the peopU of Harrodsburg something to be proud of. This team, in the eyes of will go down asr?ne of the best in the school's history. 1975 JFootball SSanquet Venus N ea ix lie ,!
