VanArsdall, Sr. Thus, closes our autobiography, but before we go, to you, Dr. VanArsdall, we Seniors would like to say a word of appreciation for the many years of faithful service you have rendered our school as a member of the Board of Education from 1917 to 1956. As each of us go from this school as responsible citizens of the community, your unselfish service will be a beacon to those of us who try to serve our community, our state, and our nation. You have been more than Chairman of the Board; in a sense you are a symbol of those who love Education and those who think as the poet Edgar Guest said: There is an education of the mind which all require and parents early start, hut there is training of a nobler kind and that’s the education of the heart. Lessons that are most difficult to give are faith and courage and the way to liver You have shown us that way! Our heartfelt thanks goes to our advertisers. Without their help, this annual would not have been possible.
