latent The Talent Show sponsored by the Senior Class for the entire school proved successful beyond all realms of imagination. The Talent consisted of music, drama, and comedy acts, and was patterned after the Arthur Godfrey Talent Show of the air. The winning talent was given a half-hour radio program over radio station WHIR, at Danville, Ky., and a second appearance at Kentucky State Hospital. The amateurs are amateurs no longer.

THE PIONEER CLASS SONG The Pioneer came, as the story goes With head up high; looking straight ahead For the horizon where the Sunlight glows, With his own bare hands a creation he made. For you and me he fought and won— And at our feet a wonderful nation he laid. Oh! The story is old and the Pioneer is gone— Now we are ready to go and to do As he did in years gone so long. We have learned, and we have played We have laughed, and we have cried But every good thing comes to an end, so they say. We say goodbye to you, classmates so good and true, The time has come for us to part, but not in heart. With memories clear of days so dear, We'll remember through the years. Our schooldays are all through, and we bid a sad adieu, May our friendships live forever more We'll build a future so strong, as the years go rolling on, So dear classmates—goodbye to you. Our footsteps and voices will echo down thru the years; Thoughts of this dear school that we love, And memories, bring to our eyes many flowing tears. In thankfulness to God for these memories we pray And rise up as a voice shouts aloud, Rise up, You Pioneers, rise up and go on your way Colleen James, Class Poet
