The name of This former chairman of Lower Merion's science deparTmenT immediaTely calls To mind The image of a paTienT and devoTed chemisTry Teacher challenging and guiding his sTudenTs in scienfific experimenTaTion. Through his enfhusiasm and experf guidance as a coach of fooTball, baseball, and wresfling, he has encouraged a spiriT of deferminafion and sporTs- manship which has heighTened The presTige of The Teams. Taking lourlh in lhe Dislricl Championships, Hickman, who was named 'rhe leamls mosl oulslanding wresller, was The only Harrilon malrnan lo place in a posl-season lournamenl. Caplain Lilllewood, winner ol lhe mosl valuable wresller award and considered lhe lop wresller in his class in 'rhe Suburban l loop, found exlreme disappoinlmenl when he suffered an elbow iniury warming up for 'rhe Conesloga rnalch. The iniury slopped his undelealed slreak al seven and prevenled The lricky power wresller from parlicipaling in lhe posl-season lourneys. Losing only 'rwo slarling wresllers lhrough gradualion, Coaches Harold Ferguson and Edgar Whisller look hopefully lo lhe lulure.
