little theatre Upon seeing Harritonis magniticent stage and tighting system, the members ot the Nationat Thespian Society, Mrs. Eva Murphy, and Mr. John Date wasted no time organizing a dramatic group to tatre advantage ot such wondertut ta- citities. Those students who had tatent in any torm ot stagecratt or drama be- came members ot The Littte Theatre Group ot Harriton High School. The group presented two three act ptays and severat assembty programs. i'Stage Door, its tirst production, write ten by George S. Kautman and Edna Ferber, had a cast ot thirty-two, who accomptished a complete scenery change, and played to an audience ot seven hundred peopte. By sponsoring a dance, the potentiat Thespians raised money to tinance royatties and scenery buitding. White mastering their use ot language, devet- oping poise, sett-controt, individuat tatents, and appreciating dramatic titer- ature and its techniques, The Littte Theatre Group made dramatics an im- portant part ot Harriton's tirst year. Act wett your party there att the honor ties expresses wett the aim ot the honorary group, the National Thespian Society.
