Text from Pages 1 - 106 of the 1985 volume:

Our Town A Presentation This will be the last year that Harrisville will be as we now know it. We, the staff, feel that its memory should be preserved and have tried to include some views of the village within our yearbook. We do this out of a sense of history and a preservation of our village’s history. Therefore, to the village and its citizens we present this edition of the yearbook. So — people a thousand years from now — This was the way we were in the provinces North of New York at the beginning Of the twentieth century. — This is the way we were: In our growing up and In our marrying and In our living and In our dying.” Thornton Wilder 2 The Way We Are The Oswegatchie River bridge with the St. Lawrence National Bank building in the background. We are not able to judge the future; we can only await it with anticipation. In this edition of the Pirates Log the staff has tried diligently to include photographs and details of our hometown and its heritage. We hope that this will assist us in remembering our town's former look as well as keeping alive its memory for us and our posterity. Thus out of small beginnings greater things have been produced by His hand that made all things of nothing, and gives being to all things that are.” William Bradford 104
