MARCEL LEBLANC DEDICATION 1984 The yearbook staff is proud to dedicate the 1984 edition of the Pirates Log to Mr. Marcel LeBlanc, our former advisor. Mr. LeBlanc initiated the yearbook here in Harrisville in 1953 and for 30 years served as its advisor, until stepping down from that post in 1983. Under his advisorship the yearbook has grown from a 50-page paperback to a hardcover book of 136 pages. Mr. LeBlanc, originally from Winooski, Vermont, has a summer home on South Hero Island in Vermont where he spends much of his leisure time. He enjoys photography, gardening, classical music and the piano. He is also an avid tennis player and hockey fan and enjoys fishing. Mr. LeBlanc, a graduate of St. Michael's College and Middlebury College, began his teaching career in 1950 in Brushton-Moira and then entered the service. In 1953 he came to Harrisville where he has remained as Latin and French teacher. Not only did Mr. LeBlanc originate the Pirates Log but also the Lake Bonaparte chapter of the National Honor Society, an advisorship in which he still proudly serves. The yearbook staff dedicates this edition of the book as a tribute to Mr. LeBlanc's many years of service in fostering and developing a yearbook here in our school.
