FOREWORD I Publication of the PIRATES LOG started twenty-five years ago at the urging of Mr. Harold LaBarge, then principal of Harrisville Central School. As we glance over past issues, we are able to note the progress which our school's yearbook has made in the scope and quality of its content. Much of this progress is due to the efforts and guidance of its only adviser over this quarter century, Mr. LeBlanc. This year's staff, with the help of the yearbook media classes, surveyed the years which the PIRATES LOG has covered. It has recorded throughout this volume the results of its findings by featuring lists which are intended to give a concise picture of what has happened since the fall of 1953. Some of these lists are incomplete since the facts were not available. Also, some lists, such as a complete roster of the Seniors who have graduated during the last twenty-five years, have been purposely omitted since their inclusion would have required several pages, pages which the staff felt should be devoted to the coverage of this year's events. Finally, maiden names have been used rather than married ones. An attempt was made to uncover the married names but the impossibility of the task was soon discovered. It is the staff's fondest hope that you will enjoy this trip through the past as you leaf through the 1978 PIRATES LOG. PIRATES LOG STAFF (from left) front: Anna Ward, Lori Bosma, Daphne Richardson, Caroline Stott, Laura Griffith, Carla Collette, Jody Eggleston; second row: Jennifer Campbell, Lynne Fuller, Tgjnmy Lesperance, Diane Ward, Debbie Hamlin, Nora Clark, Barbara Collette, Debbie Lesperance; third row: Matt LaParr, Brenda Wood, Kathy Wicks, Terri Evans, Sherry Benson, Sue Cowan, Kenny Malbeuf, Craig Luther; back: Thomas Valentine, Howard Hooper, Dale Ford, Kevin Buckingham, Jon Bassette, Michael Wicks, Kevin Gale, Marty Buckingham, Michael Valentine, Paul Richer.
