DEDICATION Miss Helen Weekes Although retired since January 1954 after twenty-seven years of dedicated service as teacher of business subjects at Harrisviile Central School, Miss Weekes continues to be numbered in that small group of teachers whose contributions to the education of youth transcends their active years. Her effectiveness as a teacher is legend today to hundreds of the younger generation whose parents remember their stay in her classes. A testimonial to the esteem in which she is held is manifested in the fact that members of the Harrisviile Teachers' Association selected Miss Weekes as their choice to receive the 1971 PIRATES LOG dedication. It Is an even greater expression of gratitude that the PIRATES LOG staff members, many of whom were not born at the time of her service and retirement, should conclude that among the many worthy candidates she should be the one to receive this singular honor. The Association and the yearbook staff wish to offer their congratulations to Miss Weekes and to extend their wishes for many more years of fruitful and rewarding retirement. We join her in her courageous battle against adversity.
