Season above pow' The 1978 Golf season ended with the Cats taking 8th place in district play. Coach Bob Barrett felt that the tolp five golfers were Jeff Bruens, Jeff Hodge, Wa lis Stpangler, David Dahn, and Marvin Musick. He elt that Bruens was the individual top golfer. Bruens was also the only team member to be selected for All-Conference. 1. You re not going to make it Hodge. The team basically had a disapgointing season, but it could be due to the fact that they only ha one returning member, Terry Angel. Coach Red Reichert felt that the team made good progress considering the weather, the youth and the inexperience. The team consisted of mostly young girls, with Kim Watson being the only senior member. There were several girls who broke the current school records. Becky Monachino broke the record in the discus, Elyssa Harvey broke the 440 yard dash record, Kim Watson broke the hurdles record and the sprint medley team also broke the record. .There were several girls that qualified for state competition. These girls were: Kim Watson, low hurdles, Melissa Wheeler, triple jump, Kathy Thomas, shot. Each of these girls placed second in district. 3 awww ' ' i ' 1. Cheryl Epps warms up before her event. 2.
