Another year hammered away Once again the Building Trades class built two houses. The students build the houses with the aid oi certain area professionals. The students learn car- pentryfliunbiritiil electrical wiring and other things involve in buil ' g a house. The class had a few problems this year. Their teacher resigned to take another position in the middle of the year. Grant Cole, Harrisonville student, commented, The class offers a good opportunity to learn the basic things that are needed in carpentry. 1. Building Trades class built two houses this year. 5. Basics of repair services learned Students get first hand exgerience at fixing fender benders to over auling the entire engine in auto body classes. By the end of the year one can perform complete automotive service on cars, time-ups, front end alignments, and hrgke service for personal use or for a Jo . Students enrolled in the Small Engine class at the Voc-Tech school learn the fundamentals of service station skills and repairing small engines. 1. Mr. Harry Kiefer: Auto Body I and II. 2. Mr. Scottie McHenry: Auto Mechanics II. 3. Mr. Sam Clark: Auto Mechanics I, 4. Mike Morris and Joel Young work on an engine. 5. Mr. McHenry helps students find out what is wrong with the car. 6. AF hosts world 's students . Even though rain dampened picnic plans, the AFS Weekend was a complete success. Over 30 AFS students from several different Kansas City high schools at- tended the banquet, dance and picnic, April 21 and 22. Students from the city stayed with several host families in Harrisonville. Six students came Thursday 'rind talked at the AFS Club meeting. se students also spoke to many classes Friday. ,X YW A-.. 1. Bjourn tries to persuade Dian to get into the car when everyone was beginning to leave the dance. 2. Students relax during the dance. 3. Students take time to relive a few memories. 4.AFS Weekend was a big success this yearg 20 students from the city visited Harrisonville for a weekend. 5. Phillippe Simmonet takes a break during the dance. 6. Everyone took time to sign memory books before leaving. 7. The dance proved a big success as everyone went away with tired feet and aching muscles. .fsifl
