'H behind the wheel There is a magic age that a student looks forward to reaching and that is 16. , There's one certain class in HHS which uses more than just Iencils, books, and papers, this class is Drivers E ucation, in which you get to sit behmd the wheel of a car. Before rasping the techniques of drivingg one may go througi alot o trials and tribulations, li e running off roads, driving with the emergency brake on, skiddmg and slipping into ditches on snowed-over roads, and maybe even cause the instructor to sweat a 1 e. Whatever the case may be, one can be sure the semester will be filled with many imforgettable moments. 7 T. 1 ,.g...--- 1. The Driver's Ed program had the use of several different cars this year. 2. Jeff Mickleberry goes through the seven check list safety precautions. 3. Most students who take the class are sophmores and are just turning sixteen. 4. Mr. Gerald Smith has class, inside the classroom every Friday. I 5. Mr. Redford Reichert and Jeff Mickleberry ease on down the road. 6. Mr. Smith returns after an hour of driving with students. 7. Mr. Reichert also serves as the athletic director in charge of scheduling high school athletics for the district. 34-

Health Classes 1. Harrisonville members of Health Occupations are L. Coburn, B. York, D. King, M. Tabor, and C. Dunakey. i 2. Learning to make hospital beds is just one of the things that Sheri Bowie and Joeva Wisner learned to do. 3. A party was held at the end of the year. 4. Pam Faught practices taking Jennifer Roberts blood pressure. 5. In Health Occupations students learned the fundamentals of health services. stressed Health Occupations is a vo- cational program open to seniors who are interested in health careers and are selected on the basis of educational preparation, interest, physical health, willing- ness to give extra time, further professional goals, and eager- igesg to serve man in the health ie . Health Occupations provides students with, opportunities to grow in leadership, civic aware- ness, and community responsibi- lity. I think that the students gain much professional know- ledge, practical skill knowledge, job readiness and career explor- ation than through any other means possible. It's hard but it is alot of fun stated Mrs. Pat Beaven. The students first semester is devoted to theory and the prac- tice. Second semester students Eet to use what they have learned y working in hospitals, dental offices, preschool and day care centers. Hhs
