civics Club , , I The Civics Club is composed ot all students enrolled in Civics class. n The Civics Club serves to promote individual pride in its community. This is accomplished by studying the workings of the various community agen- cies, organizations, and governmental positions. Each year the Civics Club of Harrisonburg High School is in charge of the Student Council elections which take place in the spring of each year. 4-H CLUB The 4-H Club movement began in the early l900's. 4-H is an organization that helps students to promote citizenship and leadership, to learn facts and skills, to make new acquaintances, and to widen their outlook. The four H's is the official pledge stand for a head to clearer thinking, a heart to greater loyalty, hands to larger service, and health for better living for the club, community, country, and world. Each year 4'H ers at Harrisonburg High School prepare for the annual Achievement Day. During this day, they participate in various projects, which they have been working on throughout the year. The 4-H Club has participated in several community projects. One ot these services was giving small gifts to nursing home residents.
