President Band 2 years May 6, 1961, was a night each girl dreams of and each boy dreads. The sky was full of stars and the sound of lovely music floated through the night as these juniors enjoyed the prom at the Edegwood in Anderson. This beautiful evening was our farewell to the graduating senior class. — SENIOR PLAY MOMENTS TO REMEMBER Tomboy was a 3-act comedy put on by the senior class. After three weeks of intensive rehearsal we were ready to be made-up and costumed to appear on the stage which we had curtained and fur- nished. Mr. Hays, you were pa- tient and full of faith in us. One of the moments we remember was when Sam and Sharon had their playful spat. 19 1, Twila Antrim, will my shyness to Sara Clark. I, Jim Curts, will my torn out rear ends to Allen Meyer, a future hot rodder. 1, Steve Derrick, being of feeble mind and miserable body, will one barrel of chicken fat and twenty pounds of pickled pig's ears to Mrs. Adams, so that she may serve at least one exotic meal next year. These are the won- derful, patient guys who take us to and from school. SCHOOL LIFE The Harrisonian salutes the successful efforts of Mr. Sox, our band leader, and the entire band. They have done much to build school spirit with each performance from PTA meetings to ball games. Leland Huffman is captain, Sharon Plummer is lieutenant, and Cindy Dixon, secretary-treasurer. The flashing smiles and twirling batons of our pert majorettes have won the admiration of the basketball fans at half-time and of the student body at all the performances. The Elementary band is the school's newest organization and they have done a fine job. Mr. Sox can be very proud of them. The High School Chorus has participated in many events this year including the P.T. A. 's Christmas program and the variety show. They have also sung for several organizations in the community. Director, Mr. Jerry Sox. CHORUS OFFICERS: President, Marilyn Scales; Vice President, Judy Hornbeck; Secretary- Treasurer, Sharon Ramsey. PQ £ Q H O M E E C Mrs. Adams, our home economics instructor, gives demonstrations which are fun for her and for the stu- dents. Here she shows them a good method for making cheese cake. Of course, they enjoy a sample of the finished product. This year our high school art students are specializing in mosaic tile work. Here some of the students under Mrs. Berry's guidance are constructing a table top and an attractive lamp from field tile, wood, and bits of glass. 48 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY These students represent scholarship and that extra effort in the classroom for a B average. New members from the sophomore class participate in a candlelight ceremony held in April. 49 Janean, a sophomore, lights her candle from one held by president Joe Clark. - po O H w h j •tj r) H oo KjpO poco L I Always ready to help you!
