Sue Drake, is sole owner of the magazine, Space Horrors. She assigned me to do an issue on the class of '58 in time for our 50th reunion. Through the development of faster- than-light flight (perfected by Robert E. Murphy while working on his full-race Mercury) we were able to journey through the universe in search of our classmates. On earth we found that Lynda Byers has re- ceived recognition as the mother of the year for the seventh successive time. Tom Robbins has recently retired as top banana in the burlesque, Follies of '07. Donald Ritchie has perfected a guernsey-dol- phin cross which enables his cows (?) to graze on the bottom of the sea. On the moon at the space station here I dis- covered that Dennis Beedle, Larry Barnett, and LeRoy Gregory had perished in 1995 when the fuel chamber they were cleaning exploded while they were having a smoke. Wanda Miller is running a tourist stand here selling doilies for rock samples. Wayne Clements is here also. He is in exile because of an incident in 1973. While visiting China, he sold Chinese firecrackers containing nitroglycerin. He insisted that he was merely try- ing to solve the over-population problem. On Venus we discovered that Donald Holmes is doing fine. He does imitations of Elvis, now some seventy years old. Linda Clark disappeared in the southern jungles of this planet last year. She was leading an ex- pedition to search for John Ramsey. It has been rumored that he was living with the tribes of the interior. Here on Mercury I learned that Kenny Stuart and Pat Hargis died a horrible death last week. The space patrol caught them drag racing in their interplanetary cruisers. The patrol headed them toward the sun with controls locked on dead ahead. Dave Cooper and Gary Van Natter have a lab- oratory near the twilight zone. Rumors seem to indicate that they have gone berserk. Each week they fire a rocket at the sun in the attempt to destroy old Sol and the universe. Tonight on the planet Mars, Michael Bane, the famous Shakespearean actor, is giving his rendi- tion of Hamlet. Attending this performance will be the noted newspaper critic, Darrel Wray, from the Martian Herald. In 1989 Jim Cox, as a member of the first ex- pedition to land here, suddenly disappeared. He was last seen moving about among the little green men who inhabit this planet, slapping them heartily on the nape of the neck. Also on this planet is Ralph Wray, the famed basketball coach of the Martian Planetary Junior High school for the lame and blind. His fame results for being their coach during the longest losing streak in the universe. His motto: Victory is not everything, but neither is losing. While visiting Saturn I learned that the record of I'll Be Down to Get You in a Spaceship, Honey has sold three million copies. The writer of this great song, Bill Long, is now enjoying the profits in his fifty-room mansion complete with servants. Bruce Carpenter, the teenage singing idol, who has put this song over the top, now has two secretaries, Janice McCreery and Janet Nauman, to handle his 10 million fan letters a day. When I returned to my desk on earth I found a small package containing a mummified hand. The hand is the only trace of a disastrous expe- riment in which three of our classmates perished in 1960. Mark Prtzer, James Ramsey, and Dennis Stansberry volunteered to test a new type space suit. Unfortunately the suits were a complete fail- ure. No trace except the hand has been found. Altogether we have uncovered some very in- teresting facts about our class of '58 and are looking forward to a very lively reunion.
