SOPHOMORES 1st GRADE PICTURE SOPHOMORES NEWS HISTORY In the fall of 1938 thirty-three of Mother’s little angels enrolled in the fii st grade. Those tha enrolled in the first grade that are still together are: Kenneth Borror, Bonnie Broyles, William Doughty, Farrell Broyles, Nila Foust, Willetta Hunter, Norris Lee, Bruce McColm, Joyce Miller, Betty Sollars, Marjorie Shaner, Philip Turner, Earl Watson, Ronald Watson and Helen Wright. In 1944 we entered the assembly as seventh graders. The work seemed pretty tough but we managed. In 194G twenly-six green freshmen enrolled for their first year of high school. We thought we were pretty big stuff but we soon found out how big we were, (..--ants) Now we arein our sophomore year of high school and we have learned many things so far- Earlier in the year we sold magazine subscriptions with a profit of $147 with he help of our sponsor, Miss Dorton. We also got our class sweaters. We can hardly wait to order our class rings. Two members of our class have missed the first semester of school because of illness. They are Nila Foust and Norris Lee. We hope to have ‘hem back next sem- ester and the gang will be complete.

FRESHMEN 1st GRADE FICTURE FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY In September 1939, we entered the first grade with twenty-eight enrolled. Four- teen of the twent-eight are still with us- Those are: June Beouy. Mae Hatton, Dorothy Hialt, Donna Sites, Beverly Tull, Joan Pittcnger, Richard Johnson, Eugene Christie, Bob Dowling, Carl Cooper, Karl Hiestand, Teddy Webb, Jimmy Curts and Charles Smith. Mrs. Yount was our teacher for the first year. Mrs. Yount was very happy to turn us over to Mrs. McDaniels, who was our second grade teacher. Mrs. Gwaltney was our third grade teacher. Jack Watson, Del Painter and Donald Hatton joined us in the third grade- Martha Mart and Marcia Locey joined us in the fourth grade. Mrs. Carnes was our teacher the first semester and Mrs. Collins was our teacher the last semester. Mrs. Elva Smith taught us in the fifth grade. Larry Campbell joined us that year also. Mrs- Brown, our teacher in the sixth grade, tried lo prepare us for the assembly. We entered the assembly in the year of 1946 and we found it not quite as exciting as we thought. Wanda Rector. William Pierce and Bob Shull joined our class also ‘hat year. Our sponsors were Miss Elinor Keller and Mr. Harry McCreery. In the eighth grade our sponsors were again Miss Keller and Mr. McCreery. David Brown and Naomi Gasper joined our class. We had a party at the home of Charles Smith- This year (our freshman year) we have four additions. They are Phyllis Galbraith from Ridgeville, Jayne Smith from Denver, Colorado, Bill Clark from Muncie and Marvin Clevenger from Royerton.
