IN MEMORIAM HIRAM K. LOOMIS Mr. Loomis was assigned to Harrison in 1916 as a teacher of physics, chemistry and mathematics. During his early years at Harrison, he served as the director ot the band. He also took charge of the Visual Education Department. Mr. Loomis died September 3, 1953. He will be remembered as a very energetic person, as well as a competent mathematics teacher. -194

THOSE wEo HAVE SERVED MANILA CHESHIRE Miss Cheshire, who came to Harrison in October, l934, and resigned in October 1953, served as Placement Counselor, Social Laboratory Sponsor which entailed preparation of the manual, heading committees, furnishing the room, organizing the Hostesses Club, and co-sponsoring the Blue and Gray Service Club. W The cultural benefits of the Social Laboratory constantly re- minds us of her delightful personality. ESTHER IOHNSON Miss Iohnson was assigned to Harrison in March, 1938, and resigned at the end of Iune, l953. Her modest manner endeared her to faculty and students. Since her resignation, Miss lohnson is pursuing her life-long interest in travel. She has extensive diaries of her world wide travel experiences and of her interest in weather throughout the world. OTTO DUDA Mr. Duda, who was a Harrison graduate, was head of the Science Department, and a member of the Principals Ad- visory Council. Mr. Duda began his career at Morton High School. Two years later he was assigned to his Alma Mater, where he continued teaching until 1952, when he resigned. He leaves behind an enviable record, as he Was loved by both the student body and his colleagues. -lgf
