S We Write these lines in the fateful year of'Nineteen Hundred and Forty-Five, a year of tremendous importance and decision, many of Harrison's finest sons are fighting in the cause of personal freedom and dignity over the reaches of the universe: in far-flung lands, over the seven seas, and in the mist-Wrapped vastness of the seven skies. And over these lands and seas and in these skies has broken the golden dawn of their full victory and ours, a victory that will Warm, like the high-noon sun, the Weary hearts and sinews of men and nations. May the pages of our Harrisonian reflect a sphere Wherein the individual has importance and opportunity, so that We may, in our World, be attuned With the spirit of theirs.

It is our fervent wish that the blue stars in our Service Flag may remain the blue of the living, and that, after the long night of battle, each valiant fighting man and his loved ones shall soon greet, with minds and hearts filled with happiness and hope, the rose--hued 'ro AAH . KX X ff GOL T TAR You Whose every thought was filled with life And ioy, and hope, and confidence, Have given-in the fierce sharp pang of battle, In the vastness of the raging sea, Or in a swift hurtling from the blue sky Into the reaching arms Of clouds, of air, and earth- Have given A life. A life. And we, who stand and sadly think about The endearing ways you had The plans and dreams that were a part of you, We will not lightly take the gift you gave, The gift of life that we might live in freedom, But eyes turned upward to the star-filled sky, We know we must pursue, in this our life, The honorable and true. Dawn of Victory and Peace!
