Adjustment Adminislralor Mr. Earl Carlson testing eyes ADJUSTMENT The adjustment office was organized for the purpose of helping both teachers and pupils to help the pupils. From the time the pupil is contacted in the elementary school before he comes to Harrison until the time he graduates, it is a source of information and aid to pupils. The adjustment office receives and places the incoming lB's in classes best suited to their needs. lt tests, evaluates, and refers pupils for help when help is needed. li conducts a course in Self-appraisal and Careers for 4B pupilsg secures significant in- formation on colleges and scholarships and is now in the process of estab- lishing a placement bureau which should prove of inestimable value to ali Harrison graduates. ll

program Mr. Norman U Spangler Assistant Principal Because of the great increase in our enrollment in the tall of 1938, it became advisable to add to the administrative torce. The school is indeed fortunate in having as its new full-time administrator Mr. Harry Twining. Some oi Mr. Twining's many duties are coniering with prospective graduates, check- ing the 4B courses ot study tor the proper number of credits, checking up on the younger students under the new plan to see that their studies follow in sequences and looking after some of the discipline cases. Besides these many duties he has tound time for the tremendous task of sponsoring of the 4A classeguiding 441 students safely through their many activities. Norman U Spangler and Harry A. Clerlzs file permanent records of individual pupils, correspond with other schools, check reports, distribute some division room supplies, answer the phone, interpret instructions from the school board and nialce records of rnoiieys collected. ln fact, they must be able to do all kinds of aeneral office worlc and lie efficient typists and secretaries as well, Many, inany other routine and nonsroutine matters are handled in the outer office by students lrorn coniinercial classes who operate the switchboard and distribute the incril, The clerks serve the principal, teachers and pupils very qraciously althouqli they are deluded with work requiring concentration and accuracy.
