Semor Class Hlstorv Every hlstory has lts beglnnlng our hxstory had nts beglnnmg m the fall of 1937 when we, as a class f seventy mne pupxls entered Harrlson High School For our offlcers we chose Paul Bxddle as presldent Eleanor Rolfes as vlce presldent, Drck Rolfes as secretary and Ralph Loos as treasurer We emerged from that flrst year wlth a real1zat1on of havlng gamed from rt new friends new knowledge and new experlences To gulde our sophomore affalrs we elected Dlck Mmges presldent Betty Bevls v1ce presldent Alma Huber secretary and Vxctor Vlel treasurer Sophomores one of our contrnbu tzons to the high school program was a clever nautxcal sklt for the assem bly whxch we presented under Mrs Dales expert dxrectxon Several of our class members won places on the hx h school athletlc teams and so galned honor for themselves and for thelr school We elected as Junlor offmers Alma Huber Dlck Mmges Betty Bevls and Dlck Rolfes as presxdent vlce presldent secretary and trea and to our Junior a boundless en surer respectlvely actlvltxes brought thusmasm a fme class spxrlt and the lme of athle tics we were well represented by talent Galore I our class memlbers on the basket- ball baseball and football squads and ln the class basketball tourna ments both our boys and glrls teams won the school champlonshlps by reason of thelr supenor playing Our class play The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was a decided suc cess, both artlstlcally and fmanclally and attracted much favorable com ment to our class Thoughout the year by reason of our hard work and splendxd class co-operatlon we accumulated quite a sum of money and ln May w demonstrated our excellent abxlxty bo spend lt The result of our spend mg the Jumor Semor Banquet set a mark for Jumor classes followmg to try to better Entermg upon our fmal hxgh school year as a class of flfty stu dents we elected Dlck Mmges presldent Dorothy Matthews vlce presxdent Murlel Acra secretary and Alma Huber treasurer Good fortune has marked all of our efforts throughout the year Our class play Sing a Song of Sixteen was recelved and our varxous attempts to ralse money have been quite sue cessful We have all worked long and hard on this our Vlsta and we smcerely hope It too lS a success So wlth a strange sense of mm gled reluctance and eaberness luctance to leave a place made dear to us by happy hours spent there and eagerness to venture out upon 3 new lxfe with vast hopes and en thuslasm we the class of 1941 larg est ever yet to be graduated from Harrlson Hlgh School now take a fond farewell from all our school mates teachers and friends and set our faces toward the future 0 I . . . . .
