Advanced Algebra Algebra 9 Ass't. Football Coach This year Harrison High received national and state recognition for its success with programmed math. This is a new approach to math which uses programmed instruction. Each student is allowed to work at his own pace without regard to other students in his class. In his way there are no failures. In the past, students from the eighth, ninth, and tenth grades were included in this program although this year only eighth graders were involved. Last summer, Mr. Garrity, the head of the project, delivered a paper on the work to a conference at Tuskeegee Institute in Alabama. Since then, Harrison has received widespread recognition, and other schools have requested in- formation about starting similar programs. But students should be warned not to get too hopeful. That old, conventional approach to Trig that has had you baffled isn't about to be abandoned, yet. But then who knows what the future may bring? Mr. Frank J.
