Foreword With the class of '58 a tradition is estab- lished at Harrison High School, the standard school ring. lt is fitting that the ring, a symbol of our association with HHS, should not change with each class. We are grateful to Harrison that conform- ity in symbols is not translated to conformity in individuals. We, as students, have been encouraged to think for ourselves, to express our ideas, to examine alternatives and select values from each. We are encouraged to taste of the variety of knowledge that our society has to offer, to approach each field with an open mind - with a critical and inquir- ing attitude and not to accept statements and theories as dogma. This approach to knowledge and to prob- lems will be our greatest strength in the years ahead. For we can see that there are no pat answers to the problems our generation must face. There are difficult questions that call for imagination and the examination of different points of view so that effective and worth- while solutions may be achieved. 1 ,A
