CONTRACT This Agreement Made This 8th Day of September 1945, by and Between THE BOARD OF EDUCATION Harrison, New York and THE CLASS OF 1950 OF HARRISON HIGH SCHOOL Harrison, New York THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AGREES: To engage a faculty responsible to the Superintendent of schools and the Principal; That said faculty through the accepted methods of pedagogy shall endeavor to impart knowledge to the students of the aforementioned class; That said faculty shall stress the importance of democratic ideals; That said faculty shall teach the value of sound body by developing the physical well-being of the students; That said faculty shall provide for a social outlet through the sponsorship of extra- curricular activities; That said faculty shall imbue the students with the principles of a high standard of social conduct vital in our way of life. THE CLASS OF 1950 AGREES: To uphold the high level of scholarship maintained by previous classes; To fulfill the democratic ideals by eliminating all forms of prejudice; To follow the rules of health and to develop an attitude of good sportsmanship in all fields of athletic endeavor; To participate wholeheartedly in extra-curricular activities which will provide for social adjustment; To achieve a sound philosophy of life and conduct so that a better world may be built; To examine thoroughly both sides of an issue and by constructive thinking to arrive at a logical conclusion; That its members shall be better prepared as citizens to make adjustments to a changing world. IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED That with the cooperation of both paid parties; the first party shall provide the raw materials and tools of learning; and the second party receiving these fundamentals shall construct a foundation, regardless of cost, and shall apply those principles of learning in BUILDING TOWARD THE FUTURE. The makers of this agreement clearly understand all of the provisions hereof, and declare their acceptance this 8th day of September, 1945, as attested by the signatures attached.
