E THE CLASS OF 1944 The number 675 sewn on the bot- tom of our beautiful Service Flag bears mute testimony to the patriotism of Alma Mater's sons and daughters in the present world conflict. Therein all may perceive her contribution to the struggle to preserve man's inalien- able rights. The smaller numeral 8, surmounted by the Cold Star tells of her deepest sorrow. lt memorializes, all too briefly, the supreme sacrifice of eight of her beloved and cherished sons. To this total of 675, the Class of l944, has already given fourteen of its members. lt is only fitting and proper that we should recognize their devo- tion and sacrifice in a special manner. To their memory, therefore, we dedi- cate this page. May God protect and keep them always. May the day be not far distant when we shall again be reunited in a far happier and better 100 world.
