WELCOME TO Harrison II i 24 If. ( cl(ool 9 7 llarri oi( t liel|ii ai| On August 31, 1981 the doors to Harrison High School opened, once again, for another year of classes and various activities. Among the activities was the creation of Expressions , the 1981- 82 yearbook. Throughout the year the staff worked diligently to gather, sort, and finally arrange the pieces of this book in their proper places. It is hoped the staff gathered Expressions which will provide many wonderful memories of the year at Harrison High .School. EXPRESSIONS We're CoolI Harrison's NEW recruit Where's the weekend? HOMECOMING On October 16, 1981 students and fans of Harrison High qathered at Hughes Memorial field to bring another Homecoming week to a clim- atic finish. This year the big football contest brought the tough Meridian Mustangs to town. Although the Hornets were prepared and fired up for the game, their efforts proved to be insufficient as the final seconds ticked off the clock. Meridian handed Harrison a 44 to 0 defeat. Even though the game ended in a loss, excitement and celebration still filled the air. © The Honor of being chosen to represent your class on the Homecoming court is a feeling you can only understand if you have experienced it. Thrill and excitement are only two of the feelings accompanying this ex- perience. After a year with no Homecoming the thrill and excitement was greater than past years. Out of the six lucky Senior candidates only two would be lucky enough to know the greatest honor of being Homecoming King and Queen. Those two lucky people for 1981 were King Scott Haskell and Queen Karen Kidd. 0 18 FACULTY •« 19 20 FACULTY English; Left to right: Mr. Ducham, Mrs. Wood, Mr. House, Mrs. Ogg, Mrs. Molter, Mrs. Robinson, Ms. Tobey.________________ f e Mr Sc ence Mrs. Henry ISpecial Education 21 KITCHEN STAFF chow CUSTODIAN in i . clean time V - Lisa Bearss ' John Beavers Scott Beavers Annette Blackledge Christine Bricault Dianna Blumerich Jeff Brockway . STUDEO SfcCuCoXorwMt Siepfott CHamuttc Mickehvb Since he moved to Harrison in the 8th grade, Steve Michelin has been very active in school functions. Steve also worked hard when it came to his studies. His outstanding Grade Point Average of 4.03 was high enough to earn the honor of Salutatorian of the class of 1982. During high school Steve participated in Basketball, Baseball, and the Sr. Play. Steve was a two year member of the Na- tional Honor Society and the Student Council. His senior year he served as the Student Council President. In the fall Steve plans to attend Michigan State University where he will study Veterinary medicine. Steve also will find help with his college education from the scholar- ships awarded to him. Undoubtedly, Steve will be an asset to Michigan State Uni- versity, just as he has been to Harrison High School. Vafe £u foriAH' UnH Marie Mfiteou The Honor of highest academic standing for the class of 1982 was earned by Ann Wilson. Even though Ann was busy with many things, her impressive0Grade Point Average of 4.18 shows she remembered she was a student first. During high sch- ool Ann participated in Cheerlead- ing, Student Council, and the Sr. Play. She was the editor of the Newspaper her senior year, and also a two year member of the National Honor Society. In the fall Ann will attend Lyman Briggs College of Science at Michigan State Univer- sity. To help finance her college education she has received a number of scholarships. Under the supervision of Mr. Pifer and Mr. Hileman, 34 adventurous seniors visited various tourist attrac- tions of the Windy City . Even though the hours were filled with rain, it didn't stop anyone from having a great time. In fact, many people dodged rain drops and mud puddles on their way to the Sears Tower. Those people who weren't quite so ambitious enjoy- ed the comforts and entertainment of the Adler Planetarium. No mat- ter what tourist attractions were visited, all will agree they were well worth the long bus ride. 116 SPRING toss JR. - SR.
