REMEMBER As we, the yearbook staff, assemble this yearbook, we are aware that this book will serve as a storehouse for all our precious memories of Harrison High. We are confident that in the future we will spend many hours thumbing through its pages to relive the many happy hours we spent here with our friends. On a larger scale, these old pictures of our community will recall pleasant memories for its citizens. Thus, it is our sincere hope that all who read this yearbook will enjoy rem- iniscing both now and in years to come. Harrison's first High School was established in 1881. SENIOR CANDIDS 70 71 SENIOR On April 3 and 4 the senior class of 1981 presented the Senior play M'Liss . It was a double night sensation with over 400 people attending. The comedy-western was presented very well by the class of 81 under the direction of Mrs. Peggy Molter. The lead role was played by feisty freckle face Robin Haskiii who did a great job of portraing the sassy little M'Liss . A fine job was also done by John Roth who plaved M'Liss's father, who in the play gets killed. Mark Young, the handsome school teacher who was in love with M'Liss gets framed for her fathers death. But we must not forget the rest of the cast. All of the planning paid off for the prom committee as people crowded the dance floor to dance to the music of Star Fire. An excellent dinner prepared by Mary Jane Hilton preceeded the dancing. The evening will be a night to remember for all who attended. 74 75 19 SENIORS 81 76 SPORTS VARSITY BASKETBALL Bottom row, left to right: David Jones, Todd Boulton, David Pifer, Kirk Elya, Steve Graves. ACTIVITIES YEARBOOK Typist Janet Breiner Most people don't realize the amount of work it takes to effectively complete a high school yearbook. This year's book included an improved color section, and a special cover. The response to these features was over- whelming as 450 books were sold. Advisor Mr. Ducham and student editor Sue Eaton are very pleased with the results, and hope next year's book will meet this high standard. Some of the many jobs the aides do consist of shelving books like Shelly and Krystal are doing to the right. Also they type dittos, check in and out books and pick up attendance slips. These jobs are all part of the daily routine for library aides 101 SENIOR PICNIC 1981 x— It was a warm sunshiny day May 22, when the Seniors met for their annual picnic. The pic- nic was held at the city park and a meal of bar- bequed beef, salads, cake and refreshments were served. Many games in- cluding a watermelon eat- ing contest, egg toss, sack race, three legged race, and horseshoes were played. The pic- nic started at 12:00 noon and ended at 6:00. It was enjoyed by all who attended. 108 GRADUATION Sunday, May 24, 1981 was the biq day for the Seniors of Harrison High School. The weather changed drastically from 80 degrees and sunshine on Saturday, to 65 degrees and rain on Sunday. Hughes Memorial field was the planned place for the commencement exercise. However, about twenty minutes before the ceremony began it was wisely moved to the gymnasium. After a delay of about thirty minutes the band sounded from the balcony, which signaled the Seniors to begin the traditional graduation march. Rev. Wargo from St. Luke's Lutheran Church opened the ceremony with a prayer. He also dedicated the ceremony to Rob Coughlin, who unfortun- ately was not in attendance. 110 1981 Mr. Tobey and Mr. Rosekrans pre- sented some special awards to deser- ving Seniors. David Jones was the recipient of the Charles A. Amble scholarship and the Hoffman-Bailey award. Kathy Roe (salutatorian), Mark Young (class president), John Roth (student council president), and Lynne Fritzinger (valedictorian) gave four original speeches to their . fellow classmates and the audience. • All in all the commencement exercises ran fairly well. For many people May 24, 1981 will be a day to remember for a long time. SENIOR QUOTES WENDY BOOSE - One does not fall in or out of love. One grows in love. LEE ALLEN - I have only just begun.
