Many of these young men will step into varsity positions next year, as the varsity lost four starters to graduation. « Varsity Boy’s Basketball The 1978-79 HCHS Boy's Varsity Basketball team. Back; L to R: T. Sharp, M. Tyrna, K. Erwin, D. Haskell, K. Wynne, K. Elya, Coach Cooper. From L to R: C. Brandt, A. Weitzel, T. Swallow, D. Boulton, D. Meek, D. Huntley. The Varsity Basketball Team finished the season at 7-13 and tied for fourth place in the conference. The team was led by Kevin Wynne who scored 300 pts and averaged 15.0 pts per game. Curt Brandt and Andy Weitzel also averaged in double figures with 10.9 and 10.3 averages. The Hornets lost some close games and got hurt in the rebounding department all season, but they kept their poise and always gave 100 percent. 1st team all conference: C. Brandt Honorable Mention: A.
