Conservation Club The Conservation Club came alive this year; the officers were: President- Dennis Schuh Vice-President- Dawn Heath Secretary- Tanya Switzer Treasurer- Diane Bobo Representative- Steve Ehle Representative- Jeff Roland Representative- Ken Davis All through the year the conservation club raised money by such things as; -bake sales -dances -and other fund-raising projects Tom Scott, teacher of conservation classes and advisor of Conservation Club, said that the conservation classes went on a field trip Friday (October 14) to Traverse City to watch 'em strip eggs from salmon at the fish hatchery. They went by bus and took sack lunches.

Forensics Pictured At left: Scott McGowan, Chris Gillett, Ingrid Dean, Cathy Stachowiak, Joyce Cook. At right, Rita Wall. These were forensic team members. The Harrison High School forensics team had a very good season. Although it only had six members, it took four awards at the district level competition. Two members, Kathy Stachowiak and Joyce Cook, went to the regional competition. The forensics team members are listed below. Joyce Cook- 1st local 1st district- storytelling. Ingrid Dean- 1st local for original oratory. .Chris Gillett- 1st local, 3rd district for radio broad casting. Scott McGowan- 1st local, 3rd district for humorous reading. Cathy Stachowiak- 2nd local, 1st district, and received a certifiacte of excellance in the regionafs, for serious reading. Rita Wall- 1st local for serious reading. 15

f I a a r n e a g w 1 u g a n g e This year's Foreign Language Club really had alot of activities going. Some of the things they did were: Helped sponsor a dance with the National Honor Society during the Basketball season. Bake Sale in the fall. Printed a newspaper of school events, personals, recipes, puzzles, and poems. The paper was in different languages, such as English, French and Spanish. Two issues were put out. For their study of other cultures, they ate dinner at The Great China Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. With money earned, the Club ordered materials for the Spanish classes. There was a membership of about 10 students and the officers were: Pres.-Lisa Skowronski V.P.-Scott McGowan Sec.-Lisa Johnson Treas.-Judy Collins Advisor-N. Tobey
