The Harrison High School Band has set quite an impressive beat this year. Profits Included $1,500 raised by selling pop, records, and magazines. This was used to purchase equipment. The 56 member band performed publicly 11 times, and played 23 different songs varying from rock, classical, jazz, country, and patriotic. This year the band was divided in three units; marching, symphonic, and pep band. The band participated in several competitions and 22 members went to solo ensemble. For 1978-79 the band intends to expand in membership between 60 80 members and increase budget to become a band the school can be proud of.
