We are lucky to have such an able administra- tion as Superintendent Robert Larson, who aided by his secretary, Mrs. Marion Hileman, helps to bring about the proper functioning of this school. Many of the administrative burdens fall on the shoulders of Principal Keith Mayfield, but with the assistance of the per- sonal secretary, Mrs. Roberta Roth, the job becomes a little easier. Leadership at the top is very important in a school and our administrators fill this requirement. Obviously pleased with Harrison’s sports rec- ords, Athletic Director, Mr. Wayne E. Bucholz looks on during a home game. Mr. Bucholz helps in scheduling athletic events and hiring referees for home games. At the top of the administrative ladder is the school board. Its members are: Seated on the left: Treasurer Wayne Trowbridge, Vice-President James Schneider, Trustee David E. Roth. Standing: Superintendent Robert M. Larson, President Charles Ashcraft. Seated on the right: Trustee Kenneth Haskell. Trustee Paul Clark, and Secretary William Hileman, Sr. Bumps, bruises and bandages are all in a days work for our school nurse, Mrs. Meredith Stan- field. She keeps close records on student health, Mr. Dewey Smith, counselor, inoculations, and medical case histories, helps students plan for the future. A new addition to our faculty this year was Mrs. Lahmann, who second semester switched from the teaching of English to that of Art. Mrs. Lahmann also supervises the Art Club and helps broaden the imagination of her students through this activity. Our Shop instructor, Mr. Rei- del, helps boys prepare for their future life by teaching them the skills of welding, woodworking, and mechanical drawing. Mr. Riedel is shown here in the tool room with two of his senior stu- dents, Dick Douglas and Ron Fanslau. STUDENTS ACQUIRE Mrs. Fosgett instructs Terry Wil- son, a freshman, in the fine art of sewing. Mrs. Fosgett teaches Home Economics I, II, and III. Students are taught cooking, home manage- ment and food nutrition. 28 The sign on the bulletin board behind Mr. Don Richards says “Happiness is a good timed writing,” as anyone who has taken typing from him knows. He also teaches bookkeeping. MANY SKILLS Vocal music teacher Mrs. Sally Reidel, goes over a piece of sheet music with two of her very prom- ising pupils. She instructs the high school chorus as well as junior high and elementary music classes. 29 Mr. Richard Johnson and Mrs. Connie Spaulc teachers take a well deserved break. Mr. Johnsor Mrs. Spaulding also teaches French I, II. Mr. William Pifer, physics and chemistry teacher, and Mr. James Rosecrans, conservation and biology teacher, are standing with a friend who assists them from time to time for demonstration purposes. Mrs. Barbara Richards, English and publica- tions teacher, also supervises the Cheerleaders, newspaper staff, and the publication of this year- book. English and speech teacher Mrs. Thora Morrison, directs her students toward a better appreciation of literature. DEDICATION The 1968 Hornet is dedicated to the young men and women of this year’s senior class, who’s sincere effort helped to make this yearbook a reality. Determination coupled with hard work now brings these youths to the end of a successful high school career. Sadly they will depart prepared to face the world and leave to Harrison High evidences of their labors. This picture shows them striving to achieve one of their goals-the first prize for the ice sculpture at the Winter Carnival. So, realizing this, we humbly dedicate this year- book to our fellow students, the Class of 1968. 4 V SENIORS Linda Allen Keith Anderson Paul Baeske J.
