Prophecy I was awake ned one morning by the ringing of my door bell. And as I opened the door,l almost fainted. Who could it be other than Yvonne Barnes ? Re ali zi ng that we are now living in the Zlst century, seeing her turned my thoughts back to A.D. 1955 and our last days at Richard B. Harrison, our dear old Alma Mater. We had breakfast at Cooley's Luncheonette , owned by Bettye Cooley. Mildred Hocutt is acting as her chief dietitian. Leaving Cooley's we boarded a plane to Selma, North Carolina. We were very happy as well as surprised to see Willie McClain, main pilot on the plane. Upon our arrival in Selma, we were g r e eted by Johnnie Pearce, who is now the principal of Ric ha rd B. Harrison High School. Checking the faculty list we found Rena Davis, Darlease Hodges, Dorothy Parker and Georgia Stokes all having their Master Degrees. All of us had lunch to g e the r and then we checked upon the remainder of our classmates and teachers. Mr. Parks is now president of Meharry Medical College and Mr. Midgette is a judge in the highest court in the Nation. I-le is also considering an oppor- tunity to run for president of New Guinea. Reading over the social page of the HARRISONIAN, a national known paper, whose editor in chief is Lillar Stewart, we found that Dr. Sylvester Lassiter CPI-IDD is engaged to Alice Williams. ClaraClarke and Grace Wilson are cele- brating their silver anniversaries. John Holloman, voc ational agriculture teacher at R. B. Harrison, is a settled bachelor. On the following pa ge s of the HARRISONTAN, we found many interesting facts., Charles Sanders is now head of a research project at the AEC. Bobby Revells is a c o unty agent in Wake County. Leona Peacock, a model, is now working for Millard Pearce, a famous artist. Clinton Bunche, the owner of a large rubber factory, is now a prominent business-man andis married to Yvonne Barnes, a dietitian. John Madison and Andrew MCC ray are five-star ge ne ra l s in the U. S. Army. Wilam Jones is owner of a be a uty salon. Kenneth Reid is a p romi n e nt engineer with five Cadilacs. Hazel Lewis and Bernice Grandy are secretaries in Bunche's fac- tory. Kathleen Watson and Shirley Wiggs are owners of a large night club in New York. Nettie Simms is laboratory assistant to Charles Sanders. Dorothy C a rp e nte r and Felton Holder have decided they are cheaper by the dozen. James Richardson is a prominent farmer in Anson County. Alice Johnson and Alice Richardson are teaching at Howard University. No one seems to know where Helen Guilford, Shirley Laney and Fannie Lane are. Thomas Jones is now playing with the Globe Trotters. Leatha O'Neal is happily married to blues s i n ge r, Charles Whitaker. Margaret Richardson is private secretary to her husband. James Mclver and E dwa rd McEachern are jet flyers in the U.S.A.F. After finding that all my classmates had reached their life's ambition, I decided to return to my job at John Hopkin's Hospital where I am superinten- dent of Nurses.
