cniors KENNETH REID- One enemy can do more than ten friends can do good ALYCE RICHARDSON- P rote c t me from my friends, and I ll protect myself from my enemies. LEATHA O'NEAL- Look for the straight things in life and when you do shoot straight at your goal. BOBBY REVELLS- There are no seats in the road of success so don t sit down. 611155 Poem School life! Ah! the charm that lingers 'Round earth's Morn, as unseen fingers Touch the chords that thrill our being To its depth, till eyes unseeing For the tears, look back recalling All the joys of old enthralling Heart and mind. Classmates, tonight Let us prize our Red and White! May the red blood that flows Through our hearts, be as true As the color for which it stands. Let the white so pure and stainless Keep us ever so true and right! May our lives be long and painless Guarded by our Red and White. Red and White! Go with us forever As the Ideal of our dreams' May we find life, as we sever, Just as worth while as it seems' May we each accept the Mission Fate holds covered from our sight Sure, whatever its condition, Victory'll crown our Red and White. - -Johnnie Pearce Clinton Bunch

gflISS History We bow not our necks,we bend not our knees, but our hearts Oh Harrison we surrender to thee. Between the year of 1951 and 1955 various things have happened. There has been joy, sorrow, understandings and misunderstandings, achievements and failures. In spite of all these things, there was a goal in view, so the class of '55 traveled on. Approximately ninety-eight students made up the freshmen class. We r e ali ze d that all our movements at Harrison would not be happy onesg therefore we expected saddness and disappointments. With the assistance of our p rincipal and high school faculty, we finally chose our subjects as freshmen. After choosing our subjects, we were divided into two groups. Our advisors were Mr. J.S. Midgette and Miss V.Boyd. Each section s elec ted its officers. The officers of Mr. Midgette's section were: president, D arle as e Hodges, vice president, Joe Lewisg secretary, Lillar Stewartg and treasurer, Yvonne Barnes. The officers in Miss Boyd's section were: President, John Hollomang vice president, Millard Pearsong secretary, Leatha O'Neal and treasurer, Sylvester Lassiter. During the year our cla s s was very active in participating in the school organizations and activities. Sylvester Lassiter and Thomas Jones were out- standing in basketball. Darlease Hodges won honors in two speaking contests. The spring of the year came very quickly, bringing beautiful scenery. As for us we will always remember our lovely party held April 26th, Stude nts maintaining highest averages were: Yvonne Barnes, DeLoris Wiggs, and Sylvester Lassiter. Beginning a new year as s ophomo r e s , we felt as full members of the Harrison family. We organized having the following officers: president, Dar- lease Hodgesg vice president, Joe Lewisg secretary, Helen Guilfordg and treas- urer, Lillar Stewart. We still had a large group, so the officers of the other section were: president, John Hollomang secretary,DeLoris Wiggsg and treas- urer, Bettye Cooley. Our advisors were Mr. J.S. Midgette and Mr. F.Parks. Q ui te a few juniors traveled to Elizabeth City, North Carolina in March for competitive classroom work. Those taking the venturing trip were: DeLoris Wiggs, Charles Sanders, Leatha O'Neal, Clinton Bunche, James Mclver, Yvonne Barnes and Darlease Hodges. Each student did afair job in his field of subject matter. In 1954, around September, we entered school to end ourjourney.Although we were two c1asses,we elected officers as a -single group, Theywere: presi- dent, Charles Sandersg vice president, J ohn Hollomang secretary, Bettye Cooley, assistant secretary, Bernice Grandy and treasurer, Lillar Stewart. Our advisors were the same. In November, Deloris Wiggs was crowned Miss Richard B. Harrison. We also had two senior atte ndant s . They were Lillar Stewart and Yvonne Barnes
