--nik Although we lived in Illinois. we were able to attend the Mardi Gras. Since our Freshman year we had looked forward to the time when we could attend the Iunior-Senior Prom. Our juniors worked for months and months on the gold crown, the painted murals, and all the decorations that went into the making of a gay and colorful Mardi Gras. Drab old Bonnell Gym was transformed into rollicking New Orleans. Dressed as brightly painted clovnms, the waiters received us at the door. After the dance the Elks sponsored a movie, cr midnight dance, and an early breakfast. F un was the password as we shared the night's events. Home we went, completely exhausted but happy with the 1 . u f, memories of a wonderful everung.
