The story takes place in Boonesborough where 44223 Daniel and his people lived. Chief Cornstalk came to see Daniel and told him that the lndians were on the warpath. He offered himself as a hostage because as long as he is held prisoner by the white people, the lndians won't attack. Daniels brother, Squire Boone, arrived at camp and reported the signing of the Declaration of lndependence. This good news was turned to consternation when a scout reported that Cornstalk was killed, which meant war with the lndians. The settlers were forced to remain with- in the fort where they were cheered by the weddings ot four couples, ln time the lndians were defeated, and i'all's well that ends well.
