Captain School Board gave her pilots to steer her course through the Waters of education. Each one did his best until eight years ago there came a master to the helm. It was Walter E. Severance who grasped the wheel with a firm and steady hand. He stood on the deck to welcome the Midyear Class of '26 as we boarded the vessel. Skill' fully he conducted us over the troublesome Waves of organization, steered us clear of the reefs of indifference to lessons, piloted us through the tempests that ever confront a high school class. The time has come for us to disembark. We leave by the gangplank graduation g but in going We take with us the memory of a pilot who has been an inspiration,-a man to be admired, a perfect gentleman.
