During the past year our purpose has been to speak French more fluently and to understand it more easily. Some humorous yet educational plays have been produced. More comical than the plays themselves, however, were the interpretaf tions of the characters by members of the club who put on brave faces while struggling with tongue-twisting French idioms. They have arranged excellent programs which have served the twoffold purpose of being both practical and interesting. For instance, they learned the test for toothfpaste and headache tablets for harmful ingredients, and the method of dyeing various fabrics.
