seq PQ CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL MISS IDA WARDEN Bounded on the east by a la modes , on the west by devastatingly intricate subjunctives, on the south by irregular verbs, and on the north by utraduisez, s'il vous plaits -this is the well marked formidable territory of French classes. But Miss Warden made the French boogie more like a harmless gargoyle. Patience was her assword and clear explanations her middle name. Gee, we're thankfiil it was she who helped us plough through Chardenal! I 7 MISS BYERS Miss Byers is well liked by all her pupils because of her ever ready smile and willingness to help. Besides being a teacher Miss Byers is an accomplished pianist and elocutionist. She is interested in all the social activities of the school. We, the MidfYear Class of '26, thank her for her cooperation in making our high school life a success and wish her much happiness in the future. 77 MR. GEORGE GOETZ This member of the organization known as The Three Musketeers is a prime favorite with most of the Senior girlsg which liking may be caused wholly by his ability in Nwisefcracking'-or it may not be. His knowledge of chemistry is useful in more ways than one, as all classes giving vaudeville shows have reason to know. Certainly all Central realizes that he is an exceedingly important member of our faculty. Y 1 MISS JESSIE C. BOWERS At last we have been led successfully through the many, many in- tricacies of Virgil! At first we were afraid that poor Aeneas would never begin his long journey but soon we had him sailing smoothly along, surmounting all difficulties by the help of the gods. Thus it has been with us, by the help of Miss Bowers we have surmounted all diliiculties in our journey through Latin. 1 1 MISS ANNABEL SWARTZ Ever ready to help, -We believe that to be the motto of Miss Swartz. She has been the aid to our success so many times that we can- not suiliciently thank her. The speeches of the debating team, the class advertising, and many other undertakings have been greatly bettered by her timely suggestions. We shall remember her not only for all these but also for the enjoyable assemblies she arranged. 1-gd DQ' EIGHT

'ed PCI Vs CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL GLASS CPOEM Whatever the days of our school life have meant, This day is the dawning of a new event In our lives: we cease to be students of Central High. We are standing at the portal of a new life Watching the glorious sunrise, the beauteous dawning Awaiting a ray of light to direct us,- To light our path which we will follow while mortals. This New Life has meted out to each one Success, however great or small it may be, If each is only willing to search for her own share. Armed are we with Knowledgeg girded for the day When we shall End Victory in the midst of Life's fray. This sunrise at dawning is so bright to our eyes That the sunset at eve will stain all the skies. Tho' the dawn of another day shall appear, The stain of that sunset will ever remain As a guidance to those who search for success And who wish to imprint a guidance for others As the Midyears of Twentyfsix had done to these. Each one of this class is destined to glorify Central's name Not in vain will she seek her share of life's wealth Nor in vain will she have her share of life's toil. Tho' sometimes the pathway will seem steepg the travel slow Gradually she'll near her treasure step by step from vales below BETTY JACOBY, Class Poet TEN
