ea gg at l a --. wa COMMENCEMENT ARGUS 'Go Our fllrincipal: WALTER E. SEVERANCE if E CGHE old ship Central began its cruise just thirtyftwo years ago. Captain School Board gave her pilots to steer her course through the Waters of education. Each one did his best until eight years ago there came a master to the helm. It was Walter E. Severance who grasped the wheel with a firm and steady hand. He stood on the deck to welcome the Midyear Class of '26 as we boarded the vessel. Skill' fully he conducted us over the troublesome Waves of organization, steered us clear of the reefs of indifference to lessons, piloted us through the tempests that ever confront a high school class. The time has come for us to disembark. We leave by the gangplank graduation g but in going We take with us the memory of a pilot who has been an inspiration,-a man to be admired, a perfect gentleman. PQ Dis COMMENCEMENT ARGUS MISS MARY RICHARDSON Posters for Argus, posters for class play, posters for bazaar! The result was of course admiration for the artists by the entire school. But the greatest amount of admiration and the most sincere appreciation is due Miss Richardson, who gave color designs and patterns whenever they were needed. We shall always remember her willingness to help US OH to SUCCESS. f 1 MISS ANNE RODDY Never shall we forget Miss Roddy, our former class adviser. When our class first organized, it was she who guided us through our many diiiiculties and aided us in the accomplishment of our many successes. We realize to the highest degree how much we are indebted to her and we hope she realizes how much we appreciate all she has done. if MISS MARY F. HERSHEY Such a thing as a project simply overwhelmed us at the beginning of the year. But by a process of evolution we became so interested that every girl in the class wanted to tell of a person she knew who resembled an ape, of a divorce caused by a hasty marriage, or of a woman engaged in industry. If you want a good subject and a good teacher, lower class' men, we recommend Sociology and Miss Mary F. Hershey. Y 7 MISS ELISABETH GARNER A teacher, with every pupil she teaches for a faithful worshiper, is perhaps an exception. Yet Miss Garner is surely that exception. Not only shall we remember her for her delightful classes but we shall always remember her as our efficient musical leader in assemblies. 1 7 MISS EDITH M. TATNAL A room full of English atmosphere and classes full of pep are the recognized property of Miss Tatnal. How we did enjoy the modern' ized story of Macbeth, and the International Book Review and the Readers' Digest, and so many other things! We certainly do thank her for a most interesting and instructive year of English. '96 1 DQ' SEVEN
