As has been her custom of yore Central spilled the dope by carrying off all honors as far as quality of playing goes in the game on Thanksgiving Day. The next act in the athletic drama involved a change of scene from the gridiron to the basketball cage. As is meet and proper, Central meant business in this field too and soon developed a winning team. With a slight intermission, track followed basketball. VVhile Central for several years has not stood where she should in this line, she has always made her opponents hustle. In every meet in which she was entered, Central finished among the leaders. -1 - , 1 COACH PAUL SMITH Central is fortunate in being able to retain Paul Smith as coach for so many years, as he always turns out a top notch team from the available material. Starting with a nucleus of three of last yearls 'varsity men to build around, he molded his players into a smooth-running team and kept their spirits at high tide all through the season. Search as one may, it would be difiicult to find a man with more real inside knowledge of football and greater ability to impart that knowledge than Coach Smith. xvIl.I.IAM Fos'rER FOOTBALI. MANAGER COACH H. ISETT MCCORD With plenty of patience and determination and confining his instructions more to the practical than to the theoretical side, Coach McCord can always be depended upon to turn out a winning team. He did not fail to fulfill expectations this year and worked all through the season with the grit and pep that have made him so successful as a coach. The up-to-date plays he taught the team were a tribute to his knowledge of basketball in every game. Ike also has the credit ofdirectingourladies' team. COACH EARL KUNREL Central was fortunate in se- curing the services of such a man as Earl Kunkel to train her track team. As a coach Mr. Kunkel has shown himself to have great abili- ty both in training the squad and in preserving good feeling among them. He was very well liked among the candidates and from the first commanded the re- spect of every person. Handi- capped as he was on all sides by the prevailing condi tions, ofwhich every one is aware, he deserves the highest Commendation for the results he obtained.
