The Girls' Basketball League Since the interclass basketball league was abandoned last winter, another system was instituted which met with great success. This new system was called the intersession league. The league consisted of six teams, three from each sespionz the Red, White, and Blue teams in the morning, and the Green, Yellow, and Pur le teams in the a ternoon session. The Yellowpteam came out victorious in the afternoon session and the White team in the morning session. Only two games were necessary to decide the championship, as the VVhite team proved itself su erior both times. p Miss Charlotte Miller, called Shorty , has proved to be the best shot, having scored sixty-nine points, fifty-two of which were points scored from the field, the remaining seventeen coming from foul goals. As a reward for her excellent work, Shorty was presented with a pair ofsuction shoes. Shorty however, was not the only one on the White team who needs to be mentioned for excellent work, for the other members of the team exhibited splendid ability. Miss Alice Schwab, who played guard showed ex- cellent form during the entire season. This girl did not make very many points, but she prevented a great many of her opponents from scoring by means of her excellent guarding. Florence Frank, the plucky little freshman, played forward on this team. To use her opponents' expression, She was as slippery as an eel. Miss Miriam Blair, who was ca tain and forward during the entire season, kept urging her fol- lowers on toward the goal. She is, thereliinre, to be admired especially for her grit. Miss Virginia VVatts displayed wonderful ability at center and had very little difliculty in outjumping her opponents. Since this league met with such great success this season, it will in all probability be in evidence again next year. 131131111 is111114114x2111oio1o:o1o11si41iu1cn1o11111111 1 1 1 1111211302 if 1 11o14n1u34n1o3u1111o:1 -1- l l 43
