gs-A JUNIOR CATHOLIC LITERATURE CLUB Sister Mary Cletus, R SM Adviser This group concentrated its efforts on becoming acquainted with and enjoy' ing American Catholic Novelists of the past as well as contemporary authors, Animated reports of new and interesting authors gave stimulus to cluh meetings the second Wednesday of each month. Jean Marie Winters, president, skillfully guided these seekers of prohtable leisure time. MA Y HAPPY LE CERCLE FRANCAIS Sister Mary Colette, R.S.M., Adviser Club members meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month. With Marydel Wildeman, the president, leading, French songs are sung. The value of the language, French cus- toms, fetes and national heroes are studied. French dialogues give oppor' tunity for practice in conversation as well as amusement for the club members. SOPHOMORE ENGLISH CLUB Sister Mary Georgina, R.S.M., Adviser Through the preparing and present' ing reports and panel discussions, these sophomores practice speaking correctly, writing effectively, reading intelligently, and listening attentively. This group prepared and presented a panel discussion to the students of Lebanon Catholic High School in February as a feature of the Student Council Exchange Program.

I CREA E O R HORIZONS MATHEMATICS CLUB Sister Mary Philip, I.I'I.M., Adviser The Mauthernatics Club centers its attention on the stimulating of accu rate and correct thinking in a pref cise, systematic and logical manner. The intricacies of the slide rule-a real problem to most persons-has become for these upperclassmen the means of solving solutions in a quick and certain manner. HOBBIART CLUB Sister Irene Marie, I.I-I.M., Adviser The Hohbiart Club has for its aim the furthering of interest in the profit' able use of leisure time. This they accomplish by exploring various crafts which might serve as a useful hobby. The members pictured here are seen discussing the heraldy of the seal of Catholic High School. LATIN II CLUB Sister Mary Winifred, S.S.N.Df ' Adviser Ouflicers Vincentia Marinaro, Louise Kuntz, Patricia Nangle and jane Gustin steered the thirtyffive Latin Il Club members through many inter' esting projects, Skits, movies, and hlmstrips of Ancient and Modern Italy rated high, Animated panel discussions and bulletin board sketches won second place. Club dues purchased U. S, Government Latin language record' ings. i A LIBRARY CLUB Sister Marielda, S.C.C., Adviser This is what the book worm saw as he peered from behind the shadow box at the meeting of the Library Club in November: a jovial group of library aides preparing scrap hooks of selective jokes and cartoons from nonfbook material for the sick, for the Servicemen and for the Red Cross.

Consul, Timothy Weiss, conducts the meetings, Aediles, Ronald Gray and Margaret Gruhie provide game and reports for amusement. Leonore Shimp serves as Scrihe and 'leanne Marie Gillis, the Quaestor. Ii EL CLUB CERVANTES Sister Mary Colette, R.S.M., Adviser Named for the great Spanish writer, Migiiel Cervantes, the club supple' ments Class study of the language and gives memhers opportunity to engage in conversation using common ex' pressions of every day parlance among the Castilians. The memhers devote some time to studying the social life and customs of the Spanish people.
