I , GILBERT STOUFFER The first Academy gathering of this organization was held in Seiler Hall, a building on the old campus. The purpose of the gentlemen who organized the Adelphian Society was twofold: to promote enthusiasm for Princeton University and to organize a Christian Association for good will in the Academy. This society has grown to be one ofthe most helpful organizations in the School. Mr. Carl Cassara is the advisor. PAGE 46

CCDUNCIL The purpose of the Student Council is to aid in the cultivation of a high standard of deportment and desirable school traditions. The Council dis- cusses the problems of the students and with the aid of the Headmaster tries to solve them. The Student Council consists of the President and the Vice-President of the three upper forms, the captain of the Greek team, the captain of the Roman team, the Editor of the Yearbook, the president of the Adelphian Society, the president of the Sphinx Club, a member-at-large from the three upper forms, and a member-at-large from the three lower forms. The presi- dent of the Senior Class is president of the Student Council, while the mem- bers Of the Council elect a secretary at the beginning of each semester.
