CLASS HISTDRY We the class of QQ began our formal education tn September of 134 with 23 boxs and 21 girls Under the watchful guidance of Miss Grace Mx ers we learned the basic reading rtttng and rtthmettc Our first xear was ended mth a ptcntc tn the railroad park Mrs Mildred Arnold our new teacher welcomed us into the second grade where me began to learn to add and subtract Wtth Mtss Heckman as our thtrd grade teacher me ftrst became acquainted with the dreaded exams Alan Anthony Walter Easler Lots Kardatzke and lavern Nelson came to Join us for the remaining nine years Upon entering the fourth grade we were very dts appointed to ftnd that we would be dtvtded tntotwosecttons With Mrs MabelRoztne and Mrs Shirley Strohl our teachers we took imaginary trtps to such places as Alaska and Afrtca Our years tn the ftfth and stxth gra es were spent learning many things Our teachers durtng these two years were Mrs Garnet Weber Mrs Golda Yeasttng and Mrs Velda James Norbert Wtdman decided to Join us tn the sixth grade Bob Magstg gave the class a very entoyable Halloween partx Our class took the traditional trtp to the Toledo Zoo and the Toledo Blade Building There was only one accident two girls were left at the zoo At last we were seventh graders and could change classes like the htgh school For our class assembly a Thanksgiving sktt was written and presented Mr Richard Eldredge and Mr Frank Rowe were our homeroom teachers The eighth grade gave us a very fine party lt was tn this year that we began to show how intelligent we were when 22 of us were put on the black ltst at one IIITIC As eighth graders with Mrs Dora Coleman as homeroom teacher we looked forward to the next year and high school Shirley Kroeger gave us a Christmas party Our class was privileged to give a party for the seventh grade For our assembly this year the class pre sented a play and had an eighth grade chorus sing a few numbers Upon Cflteflflg Our freshman year with Mrs Phyllts Barker and Mr Clarence Egert as homeroom teachers we found our class was growing by leaps and bounds Donna Epltng Marjorie Hetttck Easter Holstnger Darla Avery Darlene Sahr and Harold Semrock were here from Gravtown as well as Deanna Baum r from Woodvtlle To those interested the Space Age was officially begun during our freshman year when Sally Shrader s home made fire extinguisher shot twelve feet We entered our sophomore year with Mr Ray Goetschtus and Mr ranged from dtssecttng animals to presenting our class assembly Shot Gun Wedding Inctdentally this was the last class assembly ever given nd there probably ts some connection As Juniors with Mrs Catherine Anstead and Mr Roger Carpenter s homeroom teachers we found that we had three new classmates Nancy Garner Robert Rymers and Ronnie Sampson Our class play What a Ltfe was presented under the guidance of Mrs Dora Coleman The time came for which we had been planning stnce we were freshmen The Prom Much hard work was spent tn getting ready for our prom which had as a theme Japanese Tea Garden The auditorium was transformed into a beautiful oriental garden with a background of soft music to add to the enchantment and beauty At last we were seniors with Mrs Alvtna Kontak and Mr Lamar Hetrtck as our class sponsors We re cetved our sentor pictures tnvttattons name cards and caps and gowns Many worked hard and spent much time tn working on the manx COITIFHIIICCS and on the HELM and the P n G Our class play Henrietta the Eighth directed by Mrs Dora Coleman was presented on Max 1 The sentor and everyone who attended the Iuntor Senior Prom entox ed that Hawattan Cruise vxtth tts coconut palms and grass huts lt was agreed that tt was an evening not to be missed and never to be forgotten The htghpotnt of our sentor year and all the other memorable xears was of course Max with tts Senior Dax baccalaureate and commencement exerctses lxow as me the class of W turn from the past and look to the future we ftnd that we have chosen a motto hat will guide us through ltfe ln ourselves our future ltes 18 P5 U t I I I' 1 I - v ' A I u ' 4 I f . . . 1 . . .
